Moadon


The Moadon is a dedicated gathering space for List College undergraduates. Students can reserve the space for large Shabbat meals, social gatherings, school-wide events, and more.

Women's League Seminary Synagogue


The Women's League Seminary Synagogue (WLSS) is the main synagogue of JTS. Student-led davening (prayer) and community gatherings take place here. During the academic year, WLSS hosts senior sermons, where graduating Rabbinical School students give divrei Torah, and H. L. Miller Cantorial School students demonstrate their talents leading services. List College students also have a religious home at Columbia/Barnard Hillel, where many students attend weekly Shabbat services or are involved in clubs and activities.

The Diana Center


The Diana Center serves as a main hub of student life on campus. It is home to the Glicker-Milstein Theatre, the Event Oval, Liz's Place (a campus coffee shop), the Barnard Store, a dining hall, the Office for Student Life, and numerous classrooms and study spaces.

Common Space


The common spaces are dedicated spots for undergraduate students. There are common spaces on all four floors of the List College Residence Hall. These common spaces are dedicated spaces for undergraduate students to share meals, study, participate in Jewish cultural programming and List College exclusive programming, and celebrate Shabbat or holidays.

Laundry Room


There are laundry rooms available on every floor of the Residence Hall in addition to single-use bathrooms. There is a 3:1 ratio of students to bathrooms on each floor.

Residence Hall Lobby


There is 24-hour security at the entrance to the List College Residence Hall. Only List College students are able to move between the Residence Hall and attached JTS building freely.

There is a separate entrance for List College students to access the Residence Hall from 122nd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.

Kitchen


The kitchens bring together students in an informal setting and often students will cook meals together throughout the week or in preparation for Shabbat. There are fully equipped kosher kitchens on all four floors of the List College Residence Hall. Students choose between a heksher kosher kitchen (where all ingredients brought in have a designated kosher symbol) or ingredient kosher kitchen (in which all ingredients should be kosher, but may not have a designated kosher symbol).

First-Year Room


First- and second-year List College students are housed in doubles (as shown here) on the lower floors. Upperclass students are housed in singles on the upper floors. List College housing is guaranteed for all four years and the majority of students live on campus throughout their degree.

Servery


Grab-and-go style kosher meals are served on campus at JTS. Meals are available Monday–Thursday when classes are in session. Undergraduate students also have access to meal plan options through Columbia and Barnard in addition to dining options on campus at JTS.

Dining Hall


The Dining Hall is a treasured community space on campus. Students from each school, faculty, and staff alike dine together here. The Milstein Center

Common Space


The List College Residence Hall staff who live inside the residence hall full time include student residential advisors, graduate student residence directors, and graduate student Jewish Life directors. The Jewish Life directors are an adult couple who maintain respect around all Jewish practices, in keeping with List College's identity as a pluralistic school welcoming students from various religious backgrounds and beliefs.

Columbia University


The main gates of Columbia University are located at 116th Street and Broadway. The main campus spans from 114th Street to 120th Street from Broadway to Amsterdam Avenue.


Founded in 1953, the Joint Program allows students to earn two bachelor’s degrees over the course of four years. Students complete a full course of study in the liberal arts and sciences at Columbia while also pursuing a full Jewish Studies curriculum at List College.

The Quad & Arthur Ross Courtyard


The Arthur Ross Courtyard sits in the center of Barnard's Quad. The buildings surrounding the Quad include the Vagelos Center and the four first-year residence halls. All Double Degree students have the option to live at JTS or Barnard, and most first-year students choose to live at Barnard to immerse themselves in the empowering community there. Lewisohn Hall


Lewisohn Hall houses the School of General Studies (GS), with whom we partner for the Joint Program.


GS enrolls a diverse student body, which includes world-class dancers, athletes, and musicians, bankers and small business owners, military veterans, and international students. GS students are fully integrated into the academic life of the university; they take the same classes with the same faculty and earn the same degree as all Columbia undergraduates. Typically, students take three courses at JTS and three courses at CU each semester.

Butler Library


With 22 different libraries on campus, there's no shortage of places to study and read. The Columbia library system is among the top 10 academic libraries in the country, with holdings of nearly 12 million volumes. Barnard Gates



The main gates of Barnard College are located at 117th Street and Broadway, five blocks south of JTS's main campus. In 1979 the Double Degree Program between List College and Barnard College was established, enabling women to earn a degree in Jewish Studies alongside their degree at the outstanding women's college.

Lower Courtyard


This beautiful courtyard provides an outdoor green space for the JTS community to congregate. The platform on which the tables and chairs sit is also designed to accommodate the JTS sukkah.

JTS’s largest classroom/lecture hall has seventy-two seats. Our student to faculty ratio is 4:1 with a typical class size of just 15 students.

Alma Mater & Low Plaza


Low Plaza, affectionately called Low Beach, is often packed with students enjoying the outdoors, studying, or meeting between classes. The plaza is also home to the statue of Alma Mater and Low Library, the administrative center of the university.

Milbank Hall


The Barnard advising deans' offices are housed in Milbank Hall, as are many professors’ offices, department offices, classrooms, the Bursar, and the Registrar. Every Barnard student receives a pre-major advisor, with whom they work to register for classes and choose a major. Once a major has been declared, students switch to an advisor in their major.
